Rep. Amy Loudenbeck, R-Clinton, should be commended for standing up for the citizens in her district. She is a co-sponsor of AB-530, which is a bill that requires minimum training standards for coroners.

Wisconsin requires training for barbers, EMT personnel and even massage therapists, but the last safety net for the public often has no death investigative training. Wisconsin citizens deserve better. The coroners themselves are even in favor of the bill, which would allow them the training to do their jobs properly.

It’s a simple question: If something tragic happened to someone in your family, would you want an untrained person investigating the death? Thank you again to Rep. Loudenbeck for taking up this issue.
