JANESVILLE—A third candidate is circulating nomination papers for Janesville School Board. He is Fred Jackson, who ran unsuccessfully for school board last April.

Jackson is an analyst for Eaton Corp. in Watertown.

Also circulating papers are Kevin Murray, an incumbent, and Dale Thompson, who served on the school board in the 1990s.

Voters will fill three seats on the board in the April 1, 2014, election.

Incumbent Scott Feldt said he will not run again, and incumbent Bill Sodemann said he is seriously considering not running again.

Candidates have until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, to file their papers, which include nominating petitions with at least 100 and no more than 200 signatures.

District residents interested in running for school board can get the required papers between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays at the Educational Services Center, 527 S. Franklin St. For more information, call assistant board clerk Deb Blazer, 608-743-5056.
