JANESVILLE—Led by Peter Loftus and Erik Tollefsrud, Janesville Craig’s boys swim team finished second at the Cougar Relays on Saturday.

The Menomonee Falls/Germantown/Hamilton co-op team won the team title with 170 points, while Craig was second with 140. Janesville Parker and Elkhorn tied for fourth with 116.

Loftus and Tollefsrud were members of all four of Craig’s winning relay teams. The Cougars won the 200 medley, 200 freestyle, the 500 crescendo and the meet’s final event—the 400 rocket relay.

“It was a very good day for us,” Craig coach Brian Kitzman said. “To win four events with the competition that was here was impressive.

“We needed some guys to step up so we could score more points than what we were seeded in some of the relays, and that’s exactly what happened.”

Craig’s Sullivan Bradley swam on three winning relay teams.

Parker got a first-place finish from its 400 freestyle team of Sam Amundson, Mark Gosline, Austin Wolter and Wyatt Jackson.
