Approximately two weeks ago, the Justice Department levied a $1 million fine against two of Duke Energy's wind projects in Wyoming. The fine was for the killing of bald eagles and other protected species of birds.

So these birds aren't smart enough to bypass the wind turbines. And what did we all hear from President Obama from the day he was elected? Renewable, renewable, renewable energy. And the wind energy industry is also subsidized to the tune of 2.3 cents per kilowatt hour, by none other than the taxpayer.

Create renewable energy and get slammed with a $1 million fine. What hypocrisy.

Just a note of caution to drivers: If a bald eagle or some other protected bird flies up in front of your vehicle and is killed, we all better hope there is no wildlife official who sees it. Otherwise, you might need a deep pocketbook.
