TOWN OF BELOIT—Town fire officials are investigating the cause of Thursday night fire that destroyed a garage and its contents on Woodland Drive.

Firefighters were called at 9:16 p.m. to 441 Woodland Drive, where they found a garage engulfed by fire. The heat had starting to melt siding on two adjacent structures and threatened to involve the house on the property, said Glen Hennig of the Town of Beloit Fire Department.

A call was sent for more resources, and responses came from 18 jurisdictions, including the Janesville Fire Department, which sent a tanker.

Hennig said the fire was quickly extinguished.

The garage, a vehicle inside, a boat and a car parked outside were total losses. Hennig said the property was insured, and the fire is still under investigation.

The owner was treated for minor injuries but not transported, Hennig said.

Firefighters left the scene at 1 a.m.
