JANESVILLE—The UW-Rock County men’s basketball team continues to play well.

Safari Hunt had 29 points Saturday to lead the Rattlers to an 87-76 win over UW-Sheboygan County in a Wisconsin Collegiate Conference game.

Rock County improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the WCC.

“The guys are feeling pretty good about themselves right now and are playing with a lot of confidence,” Rock County coach Scott Lee said. “What we can’t start doing is letting off at all, like we did today in the second half.

“Sheboygan really took it to us in the second half, but fortunately we had a big enough cushion built up by half.”

Rock County jumped out to a 29-6 lead and never looked back. The Rattlers led by 18 at half and never let Sheboygan get closer than 11 in the second half.

Elkhorn High graduate Kyle Hoskins added 19 points for Rock County, while his former Elkhorn teammate Matt Smith chipped in 16—all in the first half.

Rock County plays a nonconference game on the road Tuesday night at Oakton College in Des Plaines, Ill.
