JANESVILLE—Drivers heading north and east on Interstate 90/39 overnight will need to take a short detour when they reach the Racine Street overpass at Janesville.

The Interstate's northbound lanes will be closed at Racine Street from 11 p.m. Monday through 5 a.m. Tuesday, said Mark Elland, shift supervisor at the Rock County 911 Center.

Drivers will exit at Racine Street and get back on the Interstate immediately, using the on ramp, Elland said.

The slowdown has the potential for traffic backups, but Elland said the same thing has been done overnight without problems about seven other times during the bridge's reconstruction.
