Craig, Parker fall in girls tennis

Middleton had little trouble defeating Janesville Craig, 7-0, in a Big Eight Conference girls tennis match Tuesday.

The Cougars fell to 2-6 in the Big Eight and will play Parker at Palmer Park on Thursday.


Singles--Bridget Bellisimo (M) def. Kaylee Rossing, 6-2, 6-0; Kasey Skibba (M) def. Clara Langbecker, 6-0, 6-0; Madison Krigbaum (M) def. Kristin Whitcomb, 6-0, 6-0; Emma Whitford (M) def. Amanda Wilkie, 6-2, 6-1.

Doubles--Darey Hogandorn-Allissa Ragsdale (M) def. Abby Hughes-Sara Rundee, 6-0, 6-0; Abbey Webber-Bailey Gold (M) def. Sierra Reese -Carly McGrath, 6-1, 6-2; Sydney Black-Lauren Coons (M) def. Taylor Olsen-Courtney Peck, 6-1, 6-1.

Junior varsity--Middleton 7, Craig 0.


Sun Prairie 5, Parker 2—Becky Sodemann won at No. 4 singles and the No. 1 doubles team of Elizabeth Severance and Rosalie Sellmann registered a win, but the Vikings lost a Big Eight match to Sun Prairie on Tuesday.

“This was not one of our better matches,” said Parker coach Justin Long. “Sun Prairie took advantage where we did not. We look to have a good practice and then play Craig on Thursday.”

Parker is 3-5 in the Big Eight.

Junior varsity—Parker 4, Sun Prairie 3.
