After a year of planning this event, the members of Oak Hill Cemetery Preservation Society would like to thank everyone who donated to their event held Sept. 23 at the cemetery.

Special thanks goes to group member Marni Janisch, who introduced Jason Church from the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training of Natchitoches, Louisiana.

The event was a great success. Everyone met at Oak Hill Chapel for refreshments and a slide show presentation by Jason Church. Afterward, there was hands-on learning of cleaning grave headstones. A headstone from 1862 that had fallen over was remounted in the ground and leveled, then cleaned.

Many thanks to everyone that donated to this event: Gramke Monuments, Hampton Inn, Dunkin Donuts, JATV, City of Janesville, Janesville Convention & Visitors Bureau, 1 Glass Impressions, Friends of Oak Hill Chapel, and members of Oak Hill Cemetery Preservation Society.
