BELOIT—Stephanie and Dave Dobson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a seven-week trip to northern Europe in the spring of 2017.

David Dobson and Stephanie Bateman were married Aug. 24, 1957, at First Baptist Church, Alameda, California. He retired from Beloit College in 2002. She retired from MURMAC Paint Co. in 2005.

After retiring, Stephanie became the first president of the Friends of the Welty Environmental Center from 2001-08. Dave is currently a member of the Welty Center board of directors. He also was a volunteer income tax counselor with AARP Tax-Aide for 15 years. Stephanie is a board member of the Beloit League of Women Voters and is also a Master Gardener.

Their son, Jon, lives in Vashon, Washington, with Lisa Freeman, his partner of 30 years. Their daughter, Rachel, lives in Kenosha with her husband, Steve Conran, and daughter, Emma.
