Janesville Craig's baseball team is one win away from returning to the WIAA state tournament.
The pressure was on Janesville Craig to make a second straight appearance at the state baseball tournament, and it calmly marched to a 26-2 record, including hanging on during a tight seventh inning in the sectional final.
Craig defeated Verona 2-0 in the sectional final game held at Pohlman Field in Beloit.
Edgerton sophomore Ashlyn Oren wrapped up her weekend at the WIAA Division 2 track and field meet at UW-La Crosse on Saturday by running a leg for the Crimson Tide's state runner-up 400-meter relay team. She medaled—finishing sixth or better in the state—three times on the weekend and now has five for her career.
