Genoa City man charged with fourth OWI

ELKHORN—A Genoa City man charged with fourth-offense OWI was driving 17 mph over the speed limit, according to a criminal complaint filed in Walworth County Court.

Bloomfield police say at about 6:41 p.m. Dec. 1, Christian P. Peterson, 45, of N1537 Overlook Drive, drove while intoxicated at Nippersink Road just east of Powers Lake Road in the village of Bloomfield, according to the complaint.

Peterson admitted to drinking two beers, the complaint states. Police say Peterson had glassy eyes and smelled like intoxicants after he drove 47 mph in a 30-mph zone.

Peterson has three OWI convictions for violations in 2001, 2008 and 2012, according to the complaint.
