Eudora Shepherd, 96, passed away with family and friends around her, on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Born October 5, 1921 in Creston, IA, the eldest child of Frederick Emil and Nellie-Jo (Lindberg) Lindman, she grew up in a home filled with music and a strong faith in God. She was a member of Daystar Christian Fellowship. In her personal life, she was proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. The Shepherds came to Beloit in 1947, when Bill accepted a post in the government department of Beloit College, and where they began a family, with son John Gregory in 1948, and James Fredrick in 1951. Eudie joined the Beloit College faculty in 1956, and began building the vocal program which led to a roster of performers, scholars, teachers, and prize winners who have marked the success of the music program at Beloit. She taught at Beloit College for 53 years and her legacy there lives on. She also leaves a legacy of private students who, too have loved music and earned accolades.

She is survived by her sons, John (Dail) Shepherd of Clinton, WI, and James (Susan) Shepherd of Fond du Lac, WI; granddaughters: Erin Shepherd of Rockford, IL, Wendy and Jennifer; grandsons: Kyle (Jessica) Shepherd of Waukesha, WI, Chal Dundee, and Paul (Laura) Dundee; one great-granddaughter, Isla Mae Shepherd; brother, Carrol (Donna Mae) Lindman of Greenfield, IN; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, William Shepherd.

A Visitation of Remembrance for Eudie will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Visitation will also be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road Beloit, WI, with Pastor Philip Allen officiating. Private family burial will be held in East Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be given in her name to Beloit Regional Hospice or Beloit College William S. Shepherd Scholarship Fund.
