Janesville Craig's attempt at another come-from-behind win didn't pan out Tuesday night.

Jacob Ngobi made seven 3s and set a career-high with 35 points, but the Cougars couldn't erase a 10-point halftime deficit in a 76-69 Big Eight Conference loss at Sun Prairie.

Marlon Ruffin, a 6-foot-5 guard drawing interest from several Division I colleges, scored 24 points to lead the Cardinals (2-0, 2-0 Big Eight).

The Cougars trailed 45-35 at halftime before taking a one-point lead with about 10 minutes to play.

Ngobi has scored 61 points in his last two games. The senior guard had 26 points, and six 3s, in Craig's buzzer-beating win over Madison East on Saturday.

Craig (2-2, 1-2 Big Eight) made 10 3-pointers in its eighth straight loss to the Cardinals. Blake McCann had 19 points.

The Cougars face Middleton on the road Friday.
