Mary Margaret Whittenburg, age 93, of Janesville, died on Thursday, November 30, 2017, surrounded by her family, at Rock Haven. She was born in Macon, MO on December 28, 1923, the daughter of Elroy and Lena (Williams) Hughes. She graduated from Macon High School in 1941, and married James F. Whittenburg on August 6, 1942, in Centralia, MO. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2012. They renewed their vows on their 65th anniversary. She was a secretary at Orangeville High School, then she was employed at Warner Lambert (Mondelez International) for 17 years, retiring on January 1, 1986. Margaret was a member of the Women of the Moose, and a former Ladies Elk in McAllen, TX. She enjoyed entertaining with her musical abilities, playing the Dulcimer and the Organ.

She is survived by her two sons, Dan (Peg) Whittenburg of Thompson Falls, MT, and Jim (Tamme) Whittenburg of Roscoe, IL; three daughters: Linda (George) Salter, Janet (Lyall) Martin, and Karen (David) Brown all of Janesville; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; twin sons, Larry and Jerry; granddaughter, Amy; great-granddaughter, Ruth; and great-grandson, Bronson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, December 11, 2017, at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY with Rev. Tom Zillman officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
