The high school wrestling regular season is less than a week old, so Janesville Parker's stamina was sternly tested Saturday during the second-annual Cramer/Brown Invitational at Parker High.

Parker scored wins over Sussex Hamilton, Milton, and Racine Horlick to finish 3-2.

“Five duals in one day is pretty strenuous,” Parker coach Daniel Jackson said. “It does challenge our endurance. It allows us to push our guys.”

The Vikings were led by 126-pounder Brett Perkins, who went 5-0 with four pins.

“He came out with intensity,” Jackson said. “It was pretty impressive to see.”

Parker's Nicolas Lux won four matches at 120 pounds, with his only defeat coming by 16-0 technical fall to Random Lake's Anthony Rautmann in his final match.

The tournament is named for longtime Parker wrestling coaches Ron Cramer and Ron Brown. The now-retired coaches teamed to win 29 Big Eight Conference titles at Parker.
