The Janesville Craig boys swimming team got off to a rousing start of the season by defeating host Madison La Follette 135-29 in Big Eight Conference action Friday night.

The Cougars won every event against a Lancers squad that has just seven swimmers.

“Our guys had a lot of personal best times, and one of our juniors, Lochlin Pearce, who had been in the hunt for a letter time since his freshman year--achieved a letter time in the 100 free,” said Craig coach Jonathan Hopkins.

Pearce won the 100 freestyle in 58.85.

Hopkins also commended the performances of Sam Sarauer, Callaghan Bradley, Kiel Wolff, and Gavin Ziebell.

A complete listing of results were not available from La Follette.
