Isabel K. “Izzy” Donahue, age 92, a longtime resident of Janesville, passed away Saturday evening, Nov. 18, 2017, at Cedar Crest Memory Care where she has resided the past several years. She was born April 11, 1925, in Big Foot Twsp., Walworth County, WI, the daughter of the late George & Katherine (Gleason) Slavin. On October 15, 1955, she married Donald T. Donahue at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Delavan. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2001. Isabel worked for many years as a child care worker for the Wisconsin State School for the Blind and Visually Impaired until her retirement.

She was a very talented artist, most notably with watercolors. She loved to travel, and had visited a large portion of the United States, along with Ireland. Izzy loved birds, and enjoyed watching and feeding them. She and Don had been longtime members of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 197. Isabel was a longtime active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her five sons, Steve (Julia) Donahue, Richard (Mary) Donahue, both of Janesville, Lawrence (Amy) Donahue, of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, Allen (Lori) Donahue, of Janesville, and Joseph (DeeAnn) Donahue, of Stevens Point, WI; her eight beloved grandchildren, Kristine, Jennifer, Tiffany, Jimmy, Jocelyn, Daniel, Matthew, and Joshua; and by nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Donahue, her two sisters, Mary and Lucille, and her two brothers, Robert and Thomas.

Funeral services with a Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 315 Cherry St., with Fr. Timothy Renz officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday evening at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m, on Tuesday at the CHURCH.

Isabel’s family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the wonderful staff at Cedar Crest and their Memory Care for their wonderful loving care shown to her during her illness.
