Jets open two-games series against Wilderness tonight

The Janesville Jets never led in regulation but came away with a 3-2 victory over Coulee Region in a shootout at La Crosse on Wednesday night.

 

Sam Renlund and Jakov Novak scored in regulation and then each scored in the shootout to give the Jets the victory.

 

Renlund scored in the second period to tie the game at 1-1. Novak scored at the 7:58 mark of the third period to tie the game at 2-2.

 

Janesville goalie Dan Lebedeff made 38 saves. Both Coulee Region goals came on power plays.

 

The Jets (14-6-1) are in first place in the Midwest Division with 29 points, three points better than Fairbanks. Janesville will be at home tonight and Saturday night against the Minnesota Wilderness. The puck will drop both nights at 7 o’clock at the Janesville Ice Arena.
