Orfordville/formerly Edgerton, WI - Melissa M. Whitten, 27, of Orfordville/formerly Edgerton, WI, passed away tragically on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, in a car accident. Melissa was born on Oct. 16, 1990, in Janesville, WI to Daniel E. and Lisa M. (Monday) Teeter. She attended Edgerton High School and graduated in 2009. Melissa received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from DeVry University. On Dec. 12, 2012, in Madison, WI, she would marry Ethan Whitten whom she knew since the 5th grade. Melissa was a member of the Janesville Women's Club and a leader and member of TOPS. Melissa was fearless in life and never looked at a job as to much to handle. She spent countless hours working with Ethan: fixing motors, farming, working the skid loader, and driving her cherish Oliver 770 tractor. She was very active at the Janesville farmers market, selling the vegetable that she grew on their new farm. She loved her family, and was blessed with a baby daughter, Vanessa in June.

Melissa is survived by her loving husband and daughter: Ethan and Vanessa Whitten; parents, Daniel and Lisa (Monday) Teeter; brothers, Fredrick (Nicole) Teeter, James Teeter; grandparents: Kenneth and Clara Teeter, LeRoy and Evelyn Whitten, Annie and David Porter, James Vance; father-in-law, Mark Whitten; mother-in-law, Katie Whitten; brother-in-law, Grant (Chrissy) Whitten; sisters-in-law, Camille and Andrya Whitten; and many aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Aarin Teeter; grandparents, John and Barbara Monday; and a great aunt “heavy on the great,” Bonnie Kate Heable.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at the ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, Edgerton with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Fassett Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the start of the services on Monday. In lieu of flowers, an account is being establish for Melissa's daughter, Vanessa.
