May 6, 1930 - November 15, 2017

Beloit, WI - Marvin Mauel, 87, of Beloit, WI, died on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was welcomed into the world on May 6, 1930, in Kenosha, WI, the son of Orlando and Barbara (Mares) Mauel. His family relocated to Beloit in the mid-thirties, when Orlando came to work for Fairbanks Morse. Marvin attended Beloit Schools, Todd, Brother Dutton, and Beloit High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed at Governor’s Island near New York City. Marvin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lora’s College with a degree in Business with an Accounting emphasis.

One of his first employer’s was Hansen Equipment Company in South Beloit, IL. Marvin eventually left them to start out on his own. The operation evolved and became based out of his home on Broad Street. The business was known as “Mauels Tax Service’. Marvin was an “Enrolled Agent” with the IRS of which he took great pride. His true joy was family. Marvin was the rock and steady hand for his family. He was the “go to” in times of trouble and distress. One such example: his sister Phyllis was a Down Syndrome child and great joy to family. At the time of Marvin’s mothers passing he stepped up and took wonderful care of Phyllis. No questions asked. Marvin was always about “doing the right thing”. He was a man with deep Christian roots and an optimistic outlook on life!

Marvin is survived by his sisters, Virginia (Jerry) Mills and Eleanore (Larry) Christofferson; brother, William (Pat) Mauel; sister-in-law and special caregiver, Ruth Mauel; nieces and nephews, Elliott, Cale, Andy, Adam Mauel, Casey, Kevin, Scott, Martin and Fritz Christofferson, Connie Senz, Tisha Rollette, Mathew, Michael and Tim Mills, Monica Barrie, Amy Spangler, Mark and Jay Payleitner, Mary Kay Coleman, Susan Curran, David and Steven Mauel, and Valerie Mullins.

Most important of all is his niece-business partner and caregiver Gabrielle Mauel. She was Marvin’s special angel. His family gives great love and thanks to Gabrielle, Ruth Mauel and Casey Christofferson for their special care and concern for Marvin. Also we would like to thank Jerry Magnanezie for his long friendship and caring concern. Marvin was predeceased by his parents, his brother Robert “EJ” Mauel, sisters, Mary Ann Mauel, Phyllis Mauel, and Margie (Kenneth) Payleitner.
