Janesville woman arrested on sixth OWI charge

JANESVILLE-- Janesville police arrested a Janesville woman Saturday morning on sixth-offense OWI after stopping her for a traffic violation, according to a news release from the Janesville Police Department.

Lora L. Hummell, 51, of 1414 Tyler St., Janesville was arrested on charges of felony operating while intoxicated, sixth offense, according to the release.

Police stopped Hummell near S. Washington Street and W. Delavan Drive at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, according to the release. Hummell showed signs of intoxication and had an open beer in the vehicle.

Hummell was also cited for open intoxicates and operating after revocation, according to the release.

The woman failed field sobriety testing and refused to cooperate in further testing, according to the release. Hummell was held at Rock County Jail pending an initial court appearance, according to the release.

A search warrant was obtained for a sample of Hummell's blood, according to the release.
