Warhawk women roll past visiting Beloit

The UW-Whitewater women’s basketball team went to 2-0 with a 77-33 nonconference victory over visiting Beloit College on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Warhawks led 19-2 after one quarter of action, and Coach Keri Carollo used 20 players.

 

Whitewater forced 38 turnovers and outrebounded the visiting Bucs 46-20, including a 20-3 advantage on the offensive glass.

 

Beloit, playing its first game of the season, scored the initial basket of the game. Whitewater responded by scoring 26 straight points to take command.

 

Senior guard Brooke Trewyn led 13 Warhawks scorers with 10 points. The Whitewater High graduate also had four of the team’s 23 steals.

 

The Warhawks return to action Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. when they host No. 25-ranked Illinois Wesleyan at Kachel Gymnasium.
