Clinton police arrest man on child sex charges

CLINTON--Clinton police have arrested a Clinton man on suspicion of having sex with a child.

The arrest comes after a two-month investigation, according to a news release from Police Chief David Hooker.

Hooker was not immediately available for comment.

The man was arrested on charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child,  repeated sexual assault of the same child and intimidation of a victim, according to the release.

The accused man is being held at the Rock County Jail. The investigation is ongoing, according to the release.

The Gazette’s policy is to withhold the name of a person accused of sexual assault until the district attorney’s office can confirm the charge.
