Janesville sex offender being moved
JANESVILLE—A sex offender whom the state Department of Corrections placed at a south-side Janesville residence in August is being moved about a mile north to the Fourth Ward neighborhood, police report.
Derek A. Tabbert, 34, will move from 1214 Cherry St. to 339 S. Locust St. on Wednesday, according to a news release.
Tabbert was convicted of fourth-degree sexual assault in 2001, first-degree sexual assault of a child in 2002 and second-degree sexual assault of a child in 2002, all in Rock County, according to online court records.
Tabbert was placed at Rock Valley Community Programs in 2015.
Rules of Tabbert's supervision forbid him from engaging certain activities in the community without prior approval of his supervising agent; contact with minors; patronizing taverns, bars or liquor stores; contacting his victims; or consuming alcohol or drugs. He must comply with standard sex-offender rules and cooperate with GPS monitoring.
