Frederick "Fred" Yanke, Elkhorn, WI

Frederick “Fred” G. Yanke, 82, of N. Lincoln St., Elkhorn, died Thursday Nov. 9, 2017 at his residence. He was born June 2, 1935 in Elkhorn, the son of the late Leslie and Bernice (Vogt) Yanke. He graduated with the Class of 1953 from Elkhorn High School. Fred served in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to the former Susan Warras for over 20 years, and was united in marriage to the former Merrilynn Thomas on June 16, 1984 in Elkhorn; she died December 2, 2009. Fred worked as a painter for Stuart Tank Company of Elkhorn, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed repairing small engines, was an avid NASCAR fan especially Dale Ernhardt, and he loved watching the Milwaukee Brewers.

Fred is survived by his three children: Diane Lindenberg, Fred (Tammy) Yanke and Cyndi Yanke all of Elkhorn, WI; and two step-daughters, Lisa (Frank) Drohner of Burlington, WI and Sandy Heminover of Kenosha, WI; eleven grandchildren: Cory (Amber), Justin, Noah and Jared Lindenberg, Sierra, Bernard and Savannah Schneider, Owen Lyons, Eric and Katie Drohner and Jamie Heminover; one great-grandson, Rhett Lindenberg; four siblings: Larry (Terry) Yanke of Delavan, WI, Patricia Anderson of Elkhorn, Nancy (Rick) Blucher of Whitewater, WI and Ken Yanke of Janesville, WI; and by a host of other relatives and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Susan and Merrilynn; step-daughter, Kathy Heminover.
