JANESVILLE--Erin Donagan finalized her future plans Wednesday.

The Janesville Craig senior signed a national letter of intent to swim for Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

On Saturday afternoon, Donagan wraps up a prolific prep career at the WIAA Division 1 state meet at the UW Natatorium in Madison.

Donagan is a state qualifier for the fourth straight year and will swim in the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke. She’s seeded fifth in the 200 IM and 14th in the 100 breaststroke. She was third in the 200 IM at state last year.

“I’m really not worried so much about my time,” said Donagan, who comes in with a qualifying mark of 2:06.67. “I’m more looking at it like it’s my last chance to swim against some girls that I’ve been competing against for a long time.

“I just want to go out and do my best and see what happens. I’m really excited.”

Donagan’s 200 IM heat is loaded. It features state record-holder Lillie Hosack (1:59.47) from Cedarburg, top-seeded Emma Lasecki of Bay Port and Cassie Ketterling of Oak Creek.

Donagan will not be the only Cougar swimming at state. Sommer Rhodes, a junior, qualified in the 500 freestyle.

Also in Division 1, Milton sophomore Danielle Cramer qualified in the 100 backstroke and the 100 butterfly.

The top area seed is Whitewater’s Ella Houwers. The freshman is seeded third in the 100 breaststroke heading into tonight’s Division 2 meet. Houwers also qualified in the 200 freestyle.

Edgerton’s Gaby de Moya-Cotter also qualified for two events in Division 2. The sophomore, making her second state appearance, is seeded eighth in the 100 butterfly and 10th in the 200 IM.
