Armed robbery reported at Janesville gas station early Thursday morning

JANESVILLE – Janesville police are looking for an armed robber who stole an undisclosed amount of money from a gas station early Thursday morning, according to a news release.

Officers responded to an armed robbery at Stop N Go, 714 Center Ave., at 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police said the store clerk reported being robbed at gunpoint. The robber left the store heading west on foot with cash and Newport 100 cigarettes, according to the news release.

The clerk was uninjured, according to the release.

Police are looking for a black female who is between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall. She was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, purple socks, thin black sweatpants and gray slippers, the news release states.

A Rock County Sheriff's Office police dog attempted to track the robber, but no arrest was made Thursday morning.
