TOWN OF GENEVA—A missing town of Geneva man did not make his scheduled court appearance Friday, and the search for him continues, according to a Silver Alert update sent Friday.

Authorities have received two reports of a man matching the description of James L. Demeuse, 70, in the area of Pell Lake Drive and Highway 12 in the town of Bloomfield, according to the alert. He also might have been seen at the Dejope Casino in the Madison area.

Officials have not confirmed the reported sightings, but they are broadening the search area, according to the alert.

A warrant was issued for Demeuse after he missed his initial court appearance, the alert states.

Demeuse has been missing since he was released at 3:47 p.m. Oct. 20 from the Walworth County Jail on domestic abuse charges.

Authorities have speculated Demeuse was walking to his home 10 miles away from the jail.

Family members have told reporters that Demeuse has dementia, but town of Geneva Police Chief Ken Mulhollon has said Demeuse has never been diagnosed.

He is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, 160 pounds, balding with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue Fila shirt, black pants and white Nike tennis shoes.
