Sheriff's office conducts domestic violence warrant sweep

Deputies from the Rock County Sheriff's Office conducted a warrant sweep Thursday in the Janesville area to help clear domestic and family violence warrants.

Arrest teams executed and cleared 12 active arrest warrants – 11 misdemeanors and one felony, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

As a result, eight people were taken to the Rock County Jail. In addition, one person was served with a temporary restraining order, according to the release.

The warrant sweep, conducted in conjunction with the National Family Violence Apprehension Detail, helps raise awareness of the problems associated with family and domestic violence in the community, the release states.
