Mark “Red” Onsgard, 83, of Orfordville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in his home. Mark was born on August 25, 1934 in Janesville, WI, the son of the late Omer and Rose (Maryatt) Onsgard. He was a graduate of Janesville High School. He served in the U.S. Army. Mark married Connie Nelson on September 3, 1960. They resided in Janesville for many years, and then moved to Orfordville after retirement. He retired from Ameritech as a Cable Repairman after 38 years. He loved tending to his large garden, enjoyed the outdoors, spending time at his cabin, photography and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher (Francesca) and Jonathan (Holly) Onsgard; grandchildren: Gemma Sciuto-Alverson (Keith Walton), Aaron, Bradley, and Laura Onsgard; loyal canine companion, Muggsy; and many loving relatives and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Connie; two brothers, Duane and Richard; and sisters, Jean, Ruth and Marie.

Funeral services will be held at Luther Valley Lutheran Church, 7107 S. Luther Valley Road, Beloit, at 3 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017 with Pastor Jack Way, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Luther Valley Cemetery. Newcomer-Silverthorn Chapel on the Hill, Orfordville,
