DELAVANA man told Delavan police he was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday morning, and police released a description of the suspect, according to a news release.

The man went to the Delavan Police Department at 9:12 a.m. and said he had been robbed at gunpoint on Terrace Street, south of Washington Street, according to the release.

The man was riding his bicycle when the driver of a brown, rusty four-door sedan drove near him and the passenger asked him for directions, the release states. The passenger then pointed a gun at him and demanded money, and the car drove off with an undisclosed amount of money.

The man described the passenger as a black man in his 20s or 30s wearing a red and white Cardinals hoodie, the release states. The passenger had a teardrop tattoo under one of his eyes.

The vehicle, the man said, is similar to an Impala with Illinois license plates.
