Complaint: Delavan man facing fourth intoxicated driving charge offered deputy $500
ELKHORN—A Delavan man charged with fourth-offense intoxicated driving offered to pay a sheriff's deputy $500 if he would not take him to jail, according to a criminal complaint filed in Walworth County Court.
Prosecutors say the deputy declined the offer from Brodie D. Kuhnke, 41, of 3284 County O, who was seen on camera disposing of a small bag of cocaine as he was being processed into the Walworth County Jail, the complaint states.
He also is charged with misdemeanor possession of cocaine.
Walworth County sheriff's deputies say at about 12:43 a.m. Oct. 8, Kuhnke drove 69 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 89 at Christie Road in the town of Darien, according to the complaint.
Kuhnke admitted he knew he was over his 0.02 blood-alcohol concentration restriction because he drank two beers, the complaint states.
Kuhnke has previous intoxicated driving convictions for violations in 1998 and 1999 twice, according to the complaint.
