Two people dead after collision on Highway 12/67

TOWN OF SUGAR CREEK—Two people are dead after a collision on Highway 12/67 on Friday evening.

Eufemio Jimenez Ferrel, 24, of Round Lake, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Walworth County Sheriff's Office news release. Ronald Passfield, 52, of Genoa City died later at an area hospital.

Ferrel was driving south on Highway 12/67 north of County ES in the town of Sugar Creek shortly after 5 p.m. Friday when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with Passfield's oncoming vehicle, according to the release.

Jill Krane, 51, of Genoa City was the sole passenger in Passfield's vehicle, according to the release. Krane was transferred to an area hospital with severe but non-life threatening injuries.

Ferrel was alone in his vehicle, according to the release.

The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's office crash investigation team, according to the release.

Elkhorn police, Elkhorn Fire and Rescue, Paratech Ambulance Service and the Walworth County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the crash.
