Salvation Army winter clothing drive runs through mid-October

JANESVILLE—Collection barrels throughout northern Rock County signal the return of the annual Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary's Coats for Kids drive.

The drive will accept clean and gently used winter coats, hats, scarves, mittens, gloves, snow pants and boots for children and adults. Dress coats, coats with broken zippers and light jackets will not be accepted, according to a news release.

Collection barrels are at these Janesville locations:

-- Dan's Creston Park Laundromat, 1603 Randolph Road.

-- Daniels Foods Sentry East, 2822 E. Milwaukee St.

-- Daniels Foods Sentry West, 2501 W. Court St.

-- Shopko, 2500 E. Highway 14.

-- Commercial Bank, 1400 Black Bridge Road.

-- Choice Cleaners, 610 E. Memorial Drive, 1926 E. Milwaukee St. and 2919 N. Lexington Drive.

-- Schnuck's, 1501 Creston Park Drive.

-- Pick 'n Save, 1717 Center Ave.

-- Woodman's, 2819 N. Lexington Drive.

-- Festival Foods, 2233 Humes Road.

-- Perfectly Plus, 32 E. Racine St., No. 100.

-- Kids Closet, 2411 Milton Ave.

-- All Janesville elementary schools

Items also will be accepted at all Orfordville schools; Piggly Wiggly, 727 S. Janesville St., Milton; and First Community Bank, 202 Merchant Row, Milton.

The collection drive began Monday and will continue through Oct. 16.
