What: 2017 WJJO Sonic Boom outdoor music festival

When: Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1. Gates open at 11 a.m. each day with shows running noon-10 p.m.

Where: Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport, 4198 S. Discovery Drive, Janesville.

Tickets: Available at WJJO.com/SonicBoom; The Comedy Club on State, 202 State St., Madison; and until 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at Festival Foods in Madison (810 E. Washington Ave.), Janesville, (2233 Humes Road) and Fort Atkinson (328 Washington St.).

—Current price is $99, but cost increases to $109 when $99 tickets sell out. No refunds or ticket exchanges. No re-entry will be allowed during the event.

—Specially priced tickets are available to military personnel who verify their status through GOVX.COM.

—Car/truck parking is $20 per day, and bus/limo parking is $50 per day. Handicapped parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. No tailgating.

—No overnight parking will be allowed, and vehicles towed from the parking lot will be taken to a location where they can be picked up the next day at no cost.


—Any alcohol consumption will require valid ID and age verification.

—Certain food and beverage locations accept cash only. There will be ATMs on site, so be prepared.


—Sonic Boom is an all ages show, and all patrons are required to purchase tickets for entry regardless of age. Parents are responsible for bringing hearing protection for children.

—Event is held rain or shine.

—Musical lineup and set times are subject to change.

—Handicapped-accessible seating areas are provided, but space is limited.


—WJJO encourages fest-goers to not bring bags of any sort to Sonic Boom. If you have to bring a bag make sure it is one of these: string backpack (no more than 14 by 18 inches); small purse or hand-held clutch (no more than 4.5 by 6.5 inches); small- or medium-size clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag (no more than 12-by-6-by-12 inches);  a clear, 1-gallon, resealable zip-top bag (no more than 10-by-12-by-2 inches).

—Prohibited items include but are not limited to: chairs, blankets, aerosol cans, chains, air horns, any item that can be used as a projectile or deemed dangerous, bottles, cameras with detachable lenses, selfie sticks, cans, firearms (regardless of concealed carry permits), flag poles or PVC poles of any kind, flares, food or beverages of any kind, Frisbees, illegal substances, laser pointers, pressurized containers, professional cameras, pyrotechnics or incendiary devices of any kind, seat cushions with backs, smoke bombs, umbrellas, video cameras, weapons or any kind (knives, bats, tasers, etc), whistles.


—Crowd surfing and moshing are dangerous and are discouraged by the concert promoter.

—Throwing items of any kind is dangerous and is discouraged by the concert promoter. Throwing items of any kind can be grounds for immediate ejection.

--No unauthorized selling of any kind on the grounds or in the parking lot at any time.


—Personal lockers with and without unlimited phone charging capabilities are available. Lockers with charging are $20 per day or $35 for both days. Lockers without charging are $15 per day or $25 for both days. Those renting lockers for two days can leave items in them overnight.

—Lockers are 11 inches wide by 13.5 inches high and 18 inches deep. Reserve lockers at EntertainmentLockers.com/Sonic-Boom-2017. Renters have all-day access to their lockers and can come and go as they please.

—Those who rent lockers with charging can drop off phones at the charging valet in the locker tent, get a ticket number and pick the phones up once they are charged.
