Janesville police seek hit-and-run driver

JANESVILLE--Police are asking the public to help identify the driver of a vehicle that hit a bicyclist on the city's south side around 7 p.m. Sunday night.

The bicyclist was riding south on Grant Avenue and crossing Kellogg Avenue in the crosswalk and was hit by a black Ford Explorer, according to a news release.

The SUV sped south on Grant Avenue. Witnesses described the suspect driver as a white man, about 50 years old, with white hair and possibly heavier set. The Explorer was thought to be from 2001-2004, and should have damage to a front headlight.

The cyclist suffered minor injuries.
