Consider alternate routes to work on I-90/39 on Wednesday and Thursday. Lane closures are scheduled to accommodate bridge inspections.

The state Department of Transportation says delays are expected for the closures, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in both the northbound and southbound lanes in Dane and Rock counties.

“These periodic slowdowns allow bridge crews to safely survey 12 structures along I-39/90 between Madison and Janesville as part of routine inspections,” a news release states.

The lane closures are weather dependent and subject to change.

The news release includes cautions to be alert for workers; suggestions to follow the department’s updates on Twitter, @WisDOTsouthwest, or on its website, projects.511wi.gov/region/southwest; and this: “Alerts and updates provided via these sites are not intended for use while driving. When driving, your focus should always be on driving.”
