Carl M. Fairbert, 81, of Janesville, WI, died Thursday, August 17, 2017 in Rock Haven Nursing Home, Janesville, WI. He was born December 4, 1935 in Beloit, WI, the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Wald) Fairbert. Carl married Roberta R. King on June 25, 1955 in St. John Lutheran Church. She predeceased him on January 29, 2016. Carl was a carpenter, mason and builder who took part in building all his children’s homes. He enjoyed hunting, doing puzzles, gardening in his very large garden, and playing Bingo in which he had 997 winnings at Rock Haven. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Carl was an active member of the Carpenter’s Union.

Survivors include his children: Elizabeth (Dean) Connell of Janesville, Carl Fairbert Jr. of Friendship, WI, David Fairbert of Charleston, SC, Sarah (Ron) Benish of Janesville, and Thomas Fairbert of Orfordville, WI; grandchildren: Kimberly (Shawn) Gunn, Heather (Jack) Ewing, Maghan (Kevin) White, Heather (Keith) Kuykendall, Laurie (Jamie) Gravitt, Carmen (Christopher) Burnard, Hannah Williams, Carl Fairbert III, Alexander Fairbert, Joseph (Jackie) Fairbert, Adam Fairbert, Lauren Fairbert, Jennifer Benish, Jessica Benish, Jacqueline (Jonathan) Davila, Austin Fairbert and Riley (Georgia) Fairbert; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters: Janet Conradson, Dolores Skilling and Darlene Worrick; and brother, Kenneth Fairbert. He was predeceased by his parents; three daughters: Margaret Ann, Ruth Elen and Shirley May; daughter-in-law, Roxann Fairbert; great-grandson, Preston Benish; and brothers, Ivan Wald and Peter Fairbert.

Funeral service for Carl will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Philip Allen officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation of Remembrance will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home.
