UW-Madison giving away ice cream Friday
JANESVILLE—UW-Madison representatives will hand out free ice cream in Janesville on Friday as part of a thank you campaign, according to a news release.
The ice cream truck will stop in Optimist Park from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday as part of the free movie screening of "Sing." Ice cream is limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the release.
Last year, UW-Madison launched Project 72, which aims to recognize and thank Wisconsin's 72 counties for contributing to the university's success. Part of the project includes a red and white truck that travels the state to dispense free ice cream, according to the release.
The university is thanking the state for, among other things, investing research dollars and employing UW-Madison graduates who become leaders.
