Joan M. Sather, age 66, of Edgerton, passed peacefully away at her home on Thursday, August 10, 2017. She was born in Janesville on March 11, 1951, the daughter of Martin and Joan (Bishop) Iverson and was a 1969 graduate of Edgerton High School. Joan had been employed at Dana Corporation in Edgerton, eventually moving to Cicero, IL with the company after the local plant closure. Upon returning to Edgerton, she was a manager for Stop-N-Go, and later retired from MPI in Deerfield as an inspector. Joan married Roger Kapke in 1969 and they later divorced. She married Myron J. “Mike” Sather on September 24, 2004 in Janesville. Joan loved playing Bingo, going to the casinos, crocheting, knitting, doing crafts, and playing dominos and cards with her family and friends.
Joan is survived by her husband, Mike; daughter, Kari (David Winter) Kapke of Big Flats, WI; step-daughter, Sally (Dave) Slusser of Menononee Falls; four step-grandchildren: Morgan Winter, Tony Slusser, Ben Slusser and Dawson Slusser; nine siblings: Nickalette (Greg) Johnson of Bemidji, MN, Barb (Mark) Cornford of Janesville, Jim (Ginger) Iverson of Edgerton, Gary Iverson of Janesville, Bill Iverson of Edgerton, Patrick Iverson of Fargo, ND, John Iverson of Cleveland, OH, Shawn Neidecker of Fargo, ND and Jeff Iverson of Appleton; and numerous nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marceille Doerr; and brother, Thomas Iverson.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 13, 2017, from 12 noon until the time of Funeral Services at 2 p.m. at the APFEL EHLERT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 315 Lord St. (Hwy 51) Edgerton.
