The Rock County Rage scored six touchdowns, but it was a two-point conversion that stole the show in a 42-8 Iron Athletes Football League regular-season finale victory Saturday night over the Rockford Raptors.

A.J. Fredricks jumped and somehow grabbed a Dan Roberts pass to complete a two-point conversion in the second quarter.

“It was an O.J. Beckham-type of grab,” said Rage president A.J. Albrecht. “It brought the house down. Even the Raptors went nuts.”

Besides catching the two-point conversion pass, Fredricks kicked two extra points and threw a 16-yard TD pass to Ryan Oleson.

Roberts threw touchdown passes to Austin Ryan, Oleson and Jermar Ayers. Brennon McElrath also ran a yard for another score.

Roberts completed 10 of 14 passes for 128 yards. McElrath rushed 15 times for 96 yards, and Oleson caught three passes for 46 yards and two TDs.

Jesse Bernhardt forced and recovered a fumble and Nick Hammon had two sacks and eight tackles to lead the defense.

The Rage concluded the regular season with a 9-1 record. Rock County will host a playoff game Saturday, Aug. 26 against an opponent to be determined.
