The girls high school golf season got off to a bit of a soggy start Thursday. Rain and storms shortened Verona’s season-opening tournament.

Organizers were forced to use all players’ scores through 15 holes to determine the outcome. When the calculators stopped crunching numbers, Milton claimed a season-opening victory, edging Middleton by eight strokes.

Milton senior Mia Seeman finished second based on 15-hole scores.

Janesville Craig was sixth and led by freshman Kallie Lux’s 85. Parker was seventh and was led by senior Sophia Dooman’s 83.
