Janesville police arrest man on drug, OWI charges

JANESVILLEPolice arrested a Westfield man early Sunday morning on drug-trafficking, fourth-offense intoxicated driving and other charges.

The arrest occurred at about 2:40 a.m. at Atwood and Jackman avenues on the near east side.

Police say Nicholas C. Lavore, 35, had been driving recklessly downtown, and when an officer tried to stop him, he stopped and then drove off slowly, stopped again and drove three more blocks, throwing drugs out the window.

Police arrested him on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver between 5 and 15 grams of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver 3 or fewer grams of methamphetamine, fleeing and a probation violation. He was held at the Rock County Jail pending a court appearance.
