ELKHORN—An Illinois man told police he had only one glass of wine before driving, yet prosecutors say he tested for a 0.28 blood alcohol concentration, more than three times the legal limit, according to a criminal complaint filed in Walworth County Court.

Lawrence R. La Coste, 68, of Glenview, Illinois, is charged with fourth-offense OWI.

Genoa City police say La Coste drove while intoxicated at about 3:30 p.m. April 16 in Genoa City, according to the complaint. Police also found one unopened Fireball shot in the center console.

La Coste has previous OWI convictions for violations in 1999, 2001 and 2007, according to the complaint.
