JANESVILLE -- A former Michigan man charged in May with carrying on a sexual relationship with a Rock County girl he lured through social media faces new charges for contacting the girl again and for child pornography,

The porn charges filed in Rock County Court on Thursday are for having images of the girl in sexual situations on phones that were confiscated in May, according to the criminal complaint.

Bryan S. Kind, formerly of Gladwin, Michigan, was held on a $30,000 cash bond after his initial court appearance Thursday.

Kind was arrested May 8 at a Janesville motel on suspicion of having sex with a 16-year-old girl. He had been communicating with the girl using various apps and messaging sites for about a year, police said at the time.

He had traveled to Rock County and met the girl at hotels several times, having sexual contact on at least some of those occasions, police said.

As part of his bond in the original case, Kind was ordered not to contact the girl. He posted a $5,000 cash bond May 10 to get out of jail, court records indicate.

The girl's mother reported to police she suspected Kind had contacted the girl by phone June 22 and later suspected he had visited the girl at home, according to the complaint filed Thursday.

Kind changed his address to Janesville soon after his arrest, court records indicate. He gave a new address to the court Thursday: 6688 N. Lazy River Road, northwest of Janesville.

Police said the girl lives in the Orfordville area.

After the mother reported the contacts in June, police seized the girl's and Kind's phones and found evidence of dozens of phone calls and hundreds of text messages between June 6 and June 28, according to the complaint.

The two expressed love for each other in some of the messages, and others indicated he visited her while she was home alone, at least one time, according to the complaint.

The criminal complaint says police on June 26 received the results of an analysis of Kind's phones that had been seized May 8.

Images stored on the phones showed “intimate pictures” of the girl and videos showing the girl involved in sexual acts, according to the complaint.

Police said in May said they didn't believe there were any other victims.

Kind's next court date is Friday, July 21.
