Lake Geneva business among other state meat producers in Blue Ribbon auction
LAKE GENEVA—A Lake Geneva business took home a few awards, including a grand championship win, from the 2017 state meat products contest.
Lake Geneva Country Meats took home the grand champion prize for traditional snack sausages, the first reserve champion prize for kielbasa or Polish sausage and the second reserve champion prize for ground formed jerky, according to a Wisconsin 4-H news release.
Meat producers from across the state entered the competition, according to the news release.
Meat products from the grand champions, first reserve champions and second reserve champions will be sold at the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction at the Wisconsin State Fair on Tuesday, August 8, according to the news release.
The auction will also include “best in show” products, which will be announced at the auction, according to the news release.
