It looks like the walls may be closing in on Donald Trump. Obstruction of justice charges are what spelled the end of the Nixon presidency, and we could be looking at the same thing again 43 years later. You can’t let something like that slide or sweep it under the rug. Congress will need to man up and do their constitution duty if warranted.

At least a special counsel has been appointed, it’s a wonder that happened. That at least gives a glimmer of hope that any wrongdoing that may have occurred will be properly dealt with.

Vice President Pence has had to hire a private attorney now, too, so things may not be too rosy for him either. There are 18 people in the presidential line of succession, and if you need more than that, it could mean real trouble. It might be prudent to address that potential problem now while there’s still some time. You don’t want to get caught with your pants down.

If a foreign country hacked into the election data in 39 states, it might be time to forget about using electronic voting machines. American officials who actually knew that was occurring and did nothing could be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Let’s hope it never becomes necessary for the U.S. military to step in and make things right because nobody else will. Domestic enemies can be every bit as dangerous/slippery as foreign ones, especially when they’re abusing power.
