Area baseball: Aces pick up first win

JANESVILLE--Aric Bobzien and Austin Geller combined on a three-hitter Sunday to lead the Janesville Aces to their first Rock River League victory of the season.

Bobzien and Geller totaled 10 strikeouts and the Aces built a five-run lead before hanging on for a 6-3 victory over Farmington at Riverside Park.

Geller, David Gackstatter, Kasey Kress and Braden Perkins each had two hits in the victory, which moved Janesville to 1-1.

The Aces, who are sponsored by East Point Sportz Pub, play at Clyman next Sunday.

•  Lebanon 12, Milton 5—The visiting Raptors scored four runs in the top of the first but couldn’t make the quick lead hold up.

Lebanon answered with five runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead for good. It finished with 16 hits.

Jeff Jacobson went 2-for-4 with a double for Milton, which fell to 1-1 in Rock River League play. The Raptors host Watertown next Sunday.
