The Janesville Jets have to win three straight games to claim the Robertson Cup.

Lucas Glover's goal at 13:01 of overtime lifted the Lone Star Brahmas to a 3-2 win Thursday night in the first game of the best-of-three series in the Robertson Cup Championship semifinal.

Janesville trailed 1-0 after the first period but got second-period goals from Kip Hoffmann and Keegan Miller to take a 2-1 lead into the third.

Lone Star's John Zimmerman tied the game with a power-play goal at 6:49 of the third, setting up Glover's game-winner in OT.

“We turned the puck over in the neutral zone, and I think 'Barsy' (goalie Jacob Barczewski) was screened on the shot and never saw it,” Janesville coach Joe Dibble said.

“It's too bad, because we were the better skating team early on. We started hard and fast, but then for some reason we took our foot off the gas. You can't do this when you get to this point of the season.”

Barczewski was solid in the net for Janesville, stopping 30 of 33 shots.

Game 2 is tonight, with Janesville needing to win the next two games to advance to Sunday's championship game.

“I think we'll be fine,” Dibble said. “We'll just turn the page and move on. This is a resilient group that knows what's at stake now. Our backs are against the wall, and I think we'll come out and play a great hockey game.”
